While Americans are distracted, Democrats have launched a full-blown assault on gun rights

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), the infamous congressman who actually thought that Guam could tip over due to overpopulation, has submitted a beauty for an anti-gun, 2nd Amendment gutting piece of legislation.

The bill is known as H.R. 5717, the “Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2020.

UPDATE – Sen. Warren has introduced her own version of HR 5717 in the Senate. It is S. 3254 and is nearly identical to HR 5717. We are urging all gun owners to oppose both bills.

We are totally flabbergasted by how scary this bill is. But that’s not even the most insulting part. Indeed, in the midst of a national emergency, congress has introduced the most overreaching gun control bill this session… possibly ever.

According to the Firearms Policy Coalition, these bills are basically a “Gunpocalypse.” Here are some of the “highlights”:

-Create a nationwide gun registry

-Universal background checks

-Seven day waiting period for gun purchases

-Ban almost all semi-automatic rifles

-Institute a federal magazine ban

-Implement national “Red Flag” gun confiscation

-Tax guns at 30% and ammunition at 50%

-Ban people under 21 from exercising their Second Amendment Rights (keep in mind, Pelosi wants to lower the voting age to 16)

-Ration guns by making it illegal to purchase more than one firearm in a 30-day period

-Force “Safe Storage” requirements on gun owners

-Ban home builds

-Ban suppressors

-Force FFL’s to spend massive amounts of money to comply with new “security requirements

-Expand “Gun Free Zones

Establish a national database of gun owners

That is not even the worst of it. FPB reports that HR5717 would require gun owners to obtain a permit from the government to purchase guns and ammo. In addition, in order to obtain this “permit,” gun owners would be required to submit to a live-fire exercise.

Now the tricky part. How can one participate in a “live-fire” exercise if that’s a requirement to purchase a gun in the first place? This legislation basically makes it impossible to purchase a gun as a first-time buyer.

Think about this. The government is certainly not going to provide guns and ammunition for first-time gun buyers. See where this is going?

The legislation would also repeal the law which excludes product liability for firearm manufacturers when weapons are used in the commission of a crime.

So here we are, in the middle of a national crisis, where politicians are actively releasing criminals OUT of prison, and they are trying to push a law that will make it impossible for people to defend themselves.

Please read this bill and decide for yourselves. Go to:

For the sake of upholding the Constitution and the Second Amendment, please oppose H.R. 5717 (2020). If this bill is passed, it would make 393 million legal gun owners federal felons for wanting to protect their life and liberty to the best of their ability. Please voice your opposition by phone and in writing through your state and federal representatives.
