WE NEED YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS: Please send your e-mail address to the Secretary (ccaasmfc@cs.com), it is cheaper to send the newsletter that way, plus you will get club notices and For Sale items faster. In addition, I have about 2 dozen e-mail addresses that are now undeliverable, if you used to get your newsletter via e-mail and do not now, please send in your new e-mail address.
CMP AFFILIATION: The Club has finally received documentation from the CMP for affiliation with this organization. If you have items you would like to purchase, and need an affadavit showing you are a CMP-affiliated club member, please contact Sholar Powell at sholar.powell@pgnmail.com. START OF UNAPPROVED MINUTES for the 5/09/05 Meeting:
New Business
6/14/05 – Hoggard – BGC Challenge Match. 4:00 pm. This will be a two man team competition, two teams per club.
6/18/05 – NHC Law Enforcement rimfire match. It will cost $15, all proceeds got to shooting scholarships.
6/22 and 6/25 – Concealed carry training scheduled for the Club.
Don Sloop made a motion to appropriate $2000 from the Club to purchase a new lawn tractor. Motion passed. A Cub Cadet tractor has since been purchased and is now at the Club.
Brunswick County Law Enforcement will practice at the Club May 8 – 9.
It appears unlikely we will be able to purchase and/or trade land next to the skeet field. Thus it appears we will move the skeet fields to the new property.
Friends of NRA needs you for 2005...............
The 2005 Friends of NRA is going to be held on Saturday August 13th 2005.......Everybody enjoyed the Coastline Convention Center last year so we'll be using the same location for this years event......WE NEED VOLUNTEERS.....To help with every aspect of putting on this event.......Helping our local youth shooting programs is what it's all about and is very rewarding.....Give Ray Campbell a call at 520-4822 and me know you're that you're willing and when we have our first meeting in early June, I'll make sure you know about it...Helping won't be hard and will be fun..........Ray
Meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
END OF UNAPPROVED MINUTES for the 5/09/05 Meeting.
APRIL NRA ACTION PISTOL
The fourth Sunday NRA Action Pistol Match was held with six shooters in attendance. Five of the shooters shot for score and new member John Renfrow showed up to get the feel of competition and practice. John was heard to say that he never thought a little buzzer before you shoot would affect your shooting so much.
Falling plate match......Ray Campbell claimed to be the winner since he actually missed the fewest plates but since he didn't shoot 6 plates after an accidental discharge during the first string of plates his claim was dismissed......Scores went like this:
Don Pelling (Race gun) 43
Ray Jackson (Race Gun) 41
Ray Campbell (Stock Gun) 40
Kevin Taylor (Race Gun) 38
Roy Daniel (Revolver) 32 (Real men shoot revolvers)
Moving target match....everybody shot the mover with no damage to Sholars wires....Results went like this...
Kevin Taylor (Race gun) 456
Ray Jackson (Race gun) 446
Don Pelling (Race gun) 438
Ray Campbell (Stock Gun) 434 (Real men shoot single stack 45's)
Roy Daniel (Revolver) 357
NEW EVENT: Bianchi Cup Steel Challenge.....Since our Ninja Race Gun Master Jedi Jay Della Bella is off shooting the Bianchi Cup Match we thought we'd have our own Bianchi Cup Steel Match at Buccaneer so as to give him some immoral support.......We spread out five pieces of steel on stands over on the cowboy range and the guy who could hit them with five shots the fastest would be "Da Man".......Total times for the ten runs like this......
Don Pelling 29.86 "Da Man"
Kevin Taylor 30.48
Ray Campbell 31.41
Ray Jackson 31.96
Roy Daniel 46.95 (Steel shoot'n that revolver)
Come out and shoot with us next month......"We'll make you famous"........Match Director (for this month) Dick W. Holliday
